The second VIP map pack for Battlefield Bad Company 2 has hit XBLA, the same day as the Modern Warfare 2 map pack. The map pack turns Arica Harbor possible to play in Conquest Mode and Laguna Presa on Rush mode. There are no "new" maps, but its free and adds maps for players who only play rush or conquest (not both). If you are a "VIP", or you bought the game brand new, you get the pack for free. If not you must buy "VIP" access, for 15$ (1200 Microsoft Points), to get any of the free VIP map packs (currently 2 available). The long awaited Modern Warfare 2 map pack has finally hit Xbox Live shelves. The map pack, which costs a staggering 15$ (1200 Microsoft Points), includes three new maps, along with two old favorites (Overgrown and Crash) from Call of Duty 4. Personally, we will be waiting until the price drops (or it is a deal of the week) to be joining in on the preadolescence fun. Hit the jump to see what we mean.

Rare has finally released a patch that has increased the size of the font that appears through the game. Before, the text was not large enough to be read clearly, or atleast without squinting. Although Rare said the text would not be fixed, I guess they changed their minds.

Good news for BK-N&B fans.

The new avatar "pack" for the Xbox 360 has been released for free via Xbox Live. You cannot really call it a "pack", as there is only a hat, gloves, jacket, and boots. Microsoft says there will be more avatar clothing releases soon for free. It is unknown if Microsoft will start charging for avatar clothing packs after a few intial releases. Major Nelson says that they hope to double the amount of avatar clothing choices within 6 months, as to price...we do not know.

Banjo-Kazooie for the Xbox Live Arcade has finally been released today! After two delays of nearly three weeks, the game has hit the XBLA. The game is priced at it's expected 1200 Microsoft Point($15.00 USD) tag. The game features new, updated graphics, HDTV support, easier control scheme, and possible future DLC for the title. Note, this is NOT a new Banjo-Kazooie title, it is the original 1998 title that was previously on the Nintendo 64. There are no additional story elements or missions added to this version, and there is not any expected or announced by Rare. We have already downloaded our copy and will have the review up for this game this weekend.

Epic Games released this statement on the multiplayer matchmaking issue on Gears of War 2:

This is an issue that’s affecting some folks, and [we] are...looking into it. I'll let you know more details as I have them. In the mean time, try to go back to the dashboard and use it to test the network connection. Re-sign in to see if you have better results. This has worked for some people for the time being.

Hopefully they can fix this issue, as many people have reported waiting up to 40 minutes for a single game. To help improve matchmaking times try these tips:

• Choose the "Player's Choice" or "Horde" matchmaking playlists.
• Go check your NAT, if it is not "Open" that may be your problem. Call Xbox Support at: 1-800-4MYXBOX
• Search for a game, wait 2 minutes, cancel matchmaking, wait on menu's for 2 minutes, resume matchmaking.
• Unplug, then plug in your router.

If those do not help, then you will have to wait for Epic and Microsoft to release a patch.

Tom Clancy's EndWar released in North America yesterday and hit my front door this morning. First Impressions of the game will be up shortly followed by a full length review in a few weeks. Busy season is officially started with Fable, Fallout, EndWar, and others released! Also coming this Sunday are my Gears of War 2 first impressions.

With only a short while left before the release of Valve's Left 4 Dead, they release a video showing the opening scene of the campaign mode. In Left 5 Dead you can play as any of the 4 characters in 4 player co-op. This is sure to be one of the best zombie survival games this year!
